Fyne Tankard 2nd round
Pleasant overhead conditions greeted the players for the second round of the Fyne Tankard last Saturday at Glenralloch. Calum McLean had started the day with a four stroke lead and added another solid round to give him a total of 128 net. With the target set the afternoon players knew what they had to beat but despite some valiant efforts Calum ran out a comfortable winner by seven shots to take the first silverware of the season.
Next best net scores on the day were from Malcolm McAlpine on 69 and Eric McDougall on 70. Best scratch scires were from Bruce Macnab on 72, Iain Macalister on 73 and Chris Smyth on 77.
There is no gents competition this Saturday while the following weekend, Saturday 5th May the TT100 Nancy Glen open takes place for both ladies and gents. Tee times are still available in the 8am-9am ballot and some from 2.20-3pm, if you wish to play then please call the clubhouse on 01880-820565. The club are also going to be auctioning four balls at Pollok, Murcar, Fortrose & Rosemarkie, Barassie, Hilton Park, West Kilbride and the Carrick.
