Info from Scottish Golf on 23.03.20:

In its latest measures to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19), the UK Government has announced that everyone must now stay at home except in exceptional circumstances.

The new measures announced state that you may only leave home:

  • to go to work (if you are a key worker)
  • to infrequently shop for groceries, medicine and other essentials
  • to exercise outside once a day
  • to provide care or help a vulnerable person
  • for any medical need.

While golf is an outdoor sport that allows players to exercise in the fresh air, the message to all of us is clear, we must stay home and play our part in containing the spread of COVID-19.

With this in mind, Scottish Golf asks that all golfers in Scotland refrain from golfing until further notice.

We understand that this advice will have a significant impact on golf clubs across the country and we will continue to consult with industry partners to provide clubs with all information and support possible during this time of deep uncertainty.

We know that these decisions are difficult ones to make, but right now, it is our shared responsibility to prioritise the health of our local communities by working together to follow the Government guidelines. In doing so, this will ensure that we get the opportunity to play the game that we all love as soon as it is safe to do so.

The committee of Tarbert Golf Club invite you to enjoy a game on one of Argyll’s friendliest little courses.

This nine hole course, established on this site in 1924, is attractively situated on the shores of West Loch, Tarbert. It is the ideal spot to break up your journey to Kintyre, Islay or Arran.

Take the main (A83) Campbeltown road from Tarbert for a mile, follow the sign for Kilberry. The Golf Club Clubhouse lies on the right hand side of the road.  A car park is situated at the 1st tee.

There is an honesty box inside the hut at the 1st tee and visitors should follow the instructions on the board on how to pay and play. 2018 Green Fee is £15 per play.

If you are keen to have a try at golf but are unsure of the game and may be unwilling to commit to a full membership we can help!

In 2014 we introduced a scheme for adults who are new or returning to the game of golf.

This membership will be:-

  • open to adults who are completely new to golf.
  • Open to adults who are returning to the game after a break.
  • will cover social golf and outwith competition times.
  • will run for two years. Year 1 @ 50% of the relevant fee. Year 2 @ 75% of the relevant fee.
  • at the end of that period graduate to full membership.

As part of the membership we will provide an introduction to the game.
